The Muottas Muragl funicular operates during our winter and summer seasons according to the following schedule:
- 7:45 a.m. First trip up the mountain
- 7:45 a.m. First descent
- 11:00 p.m. Last trip up the mountain
- 11:00 p.m. Last descent
Departures every 30 minutes, at x:15 and x:45

Our romantic hotel and its restaurants are open seasonally (opening hours are subject to change).
Summer
Open from June 6 to October 25, 2026.
The Romantik Hotel will close for the off-season on October 25th, 2026.
As part of the Autumn Special, the Muottas Muragl mountain as well as the panoramic terrace with the Scatla pront’a manger will remain open from October 26th to November 1st 2026, daily from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm, weather permitting.
Winter
Open from December 19, 2026, through April 4, 2027.

Our panoramic terrace is open from 8:00 a.m. until sunset.
- From 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., we serve delicious dishes from our lunch menu.
- From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., a selection of light snacks will be available.
- From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., we invite you to choose from our varied evening menu.
Winter
During the winter season, our panoramic terrace is open from 12:00 p.m. until sunset.

Accessible atMuottas Muragl
People with limited mobility should also be able to enjoy the magnificent mountain panorama without any worries. Due to the structural characteristics of the funicular, which is over 111 years old, full accessibility cannot be guaranteed. Detailed information on accessibility can be found in the ginto-Guide.

Getting There by Public Transportation
By public transportation, you can take a leisurely ride on the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) from Chur to the Engadin, getting off at the Samedan station. From there, take the train or bus to the Punt Muragl Valley Station stop, where the funicular will take you up to the Romantik Hotel Muottas Muragl in 10 minutes.
Traveling by Car
For those arriving by car, free parking is available at the Punt Muragl valley station. We recommend entering the following address into your GPS: Punt Muragl 1, 7503 Samedan.
You can reach the Engadin by car easily and safely from anywhere in Switzerland, Italy, Germany, or Austria.
- Zurich – Samedan: 200 km, 3 hours
- Milan – Samedan: 175 km, 3 hours
- Munich – Samedan: 300 km, 4 hours
- Basel–Samedan: 250 km, 4 hours
